Ibukota kembali geger dan menjadi buah bibir, bahkan sampai ke luar negeri. Kali ini pemicunya bukan persoalan politik maupun ekonomi tetapi persoalan tingkat polusi udara yang semakin mengkhawatirkan. Bahkan menurut Swiss IQAir, sebuah perusahaan teknologi kualitas udara, Jakarta ditempatkan pada nomor wahid sebagai kota paling tercemar di dunia, setelah secara konsisten berada di jajaran 10 kota paling tercemar secara global sejak Mei yang dikutip dari laman voaindonesia.com.
Walaupun belakangan hal ini dibantah oleh pemerintah melalui Dirjen Pengendalian Pencemaran dan Kerusakan Lingkungan (PPKL) Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK) Sigit Reliantoro. Sigit mengungkapkan bahwa berbagai isyu itu adalah framing yang keliru dan perlu diluruskan. Bahkan Master of Environmental Engineering & Science lulusan Clemson University menyampaikan bahwa dari 2018 sampai 2023, kondisi kualitas udara di Jakarta masuk ke dalam kategori baik dan sedang.
Terlepas dari perdebatan masalah urutan, kota besar seperti Jakarta dengan tingkat kepadatan penduduk yang tinggi ditambah berada diantara kawasan industri akan otomatis berimplikasi memiliki tingkat polusi diatas rata-rata sampai dengan tinggi, dan semua sepakat bahwa peningkatan polusi ini harus menjadi fokus bersama untuk dikendalikan. Hal ini sebagaimana diugkapkan Utami Wahyuningsih, ST, MT. pengamat industri dari Institut Teknologi Perusahaan Listrik Negara (ITPLN).
“Apapun itu, tingkat polusi di Jakarta dan sekitarnya harus dikendalikan. Apalagi karakter dan dinamika Jakarta dengan kepadatan penduduk, mobilitasnya dan situasi seputar Jakarta yang merupakan kawasan industri.” Ungkap Utami.
Inilah mengapa semua lapisan harus mendukung tercapainya net zero emission di 2060. Bukan hanya kita menurukan maupun mengendalikan polusi, tetapi tahun 2060 dunia harus dapat bebas dari emisi khususnya gas carbon. Ancaman ini merupakan ancaman nyata dan serius, sehingga penanggulangganya juga harus dengan tindakan nyata dan lebih serius.
Sebenarnya hal ini sudah disadari dan sudah banyak kebijakan yang diciptakan untuk mendukung penurunan polusi dalam konteks industri adalah penurunan emisi carbon, tinggal bagaimana implementasi dan enforcement dari regulasi tersebut direaslisasian. Misalnya dari sektor industri otomotif dan transportasi adalah transformasi penggunaan kendaraan berbahan bahar fosil menjadi kendaraan listrik berbasis baterei.
Lebih lanjut Utami yang juga kepala program studi Teknik Industri mengatakan, _“Fenomena ini seharusnya harus bisa menjadi momentum akselerasi transpormasi kendaraan berbasis energi fosil menjadi energi listrik atau baterai. Disamping tentunya peraturan mengenai uji emisi di DKI Jakarta tidak hanya berlarut menjadi pembahasan tapi segera terealisasi secara masal.”
Semua sektor harus bahu membahu, baik sektor penyediaan energi, pengguna energi itu sendiri seperti industri termasuk manusianya untuk sebisa mungkin meminimalisir produksi polusi dalam kesehariaanya dengan pemanfaatan sumber-sumber energi yang ramah lingkungan.
Tak kalah penting, pemerintah juga harus menyediakan peningkatan sumber energi, sarana pendukung energi bersih termasuk penciptaan regulasi. Catatannya adalah tidak hanya menciptakan, tetapi juga benar-benar mengimplementasikan dengan maksimal, sehingga tidak hanya udara Jakarta dan sekitarnya akan menjadi lebih bersih tetapi udara di Indonesia bahkan di dunia menjadi bersih. Semua dimulai dari hal yang kecil, baru bisa bercita-cita untuk sekup yang besar bahkan global.
