E-Techno. Fuel cell merupakan alat konversi energi yang ramah lingkungan dan tidak menimbulkan polusi. Fuel cell dapat menguraikan gas hidrogen menjadi energi listrik. Dengan memanfaatkan gas hidrogen sebagai bahan bakar, fuel cell dapat melakukan reaksi bahwa kandungan elektron dan proton dari gas hydrogen bisa
dipisahkan sehingga bisa menghasilkan energi listrik.
Beberapa komponen yang digunakan untuk memisahkannya yaitu anoda (sebagai kutub negatif), katoda (sebagai kutub positif) dan katalis yang digunakan untuk membantu proses pemisahan atom elektron dan proton dari hidrogen, membrane yang digunakan sebagai konduktor yang mengakibatkan proton mengalir ke katoda. Hasil dari fuel cell adalah energi listrik, sehingga aplikasinya dapat diterapkan pada mobil listrik sebagai sumber pengisian baterai atau sebagai alat penerangan lainnya.
Berbicara tentang energi terbarukan, rasanya kurang afdol kalau tidak menyebutkan nama seorang ilmuan Indonesia sekaligus pakar di bidang fuel cell, yakni Prof. Dr. Eng. Eniya Listiani Dewi, B.Eng., M.Eng. Ilmuan perempuan itu sukses meraih dua penghargaan bergengsi dari Presiden RI Era Transisi Reformasi 1998-1999 Prof. Dr. Ing. B.J. Habibie, yakni Habibie Award Implementation of Science and Engineering dari The Habibie Center (2010) karena menemukan plastik yang bisa mengalirkan elektron dan BJ Habibie Teknologi Award Bidang Teknologi Energi (2018) berkat keberhasilannya dalam membuat prototype fuel cell serta penguasaan di bidang engineering dan penulisan jurnal.
Prestasi sang tokoh energi terbarukan ini telah menginspirasi generasi muda Indonesia untuk terus berjuang meraih mimpi setinggi langit. Keteguhan kesabaran, ketekunan dan kedisiplinannya serta kepeduliannya pada bidang energi yang ramah lingkungan, dapat menjadi motivasi bagi generasi muda untuk terus berinovasi dan menghasilkan karyakarya terbaiknya untuk kemajuan bangsa dan negara Indonesia di masa depan.
